Miracles, in the sense of phenomena we cannot explain, surround us on every hand: life itself is the miracle of miracles. George Bernard Shaw
Miracles come in moments. Be ready and willing. Wayne Dyer
Don’t believe in miracles – depend on them. Laurence J. Peter
So I sat in the doctor’s office hearing the news, which we already knew. The message just needed to be heard, seen right there in black and white. Yes, I had stage 4 cancer. I had gone to the doctor because, yes, there came the message to go. The feeling one gets when met with this news, is most often not fear but pure shock. Never smoked cigarettes, or taken drugs ( I already lived with one foot in the Other Side , imagine messing my mind with drugs . I’m too much of a control freak. Need to know what’s happening. That’s why I have this gift. Well, I digress ) . The doctors wanted an aggressive treatment starting yesterday. So the dark days of chemo, radiation, tests, more tests. Truly people, the tests, the treatments are far worst that the disease at points. I bought cute hats, but I can never be the norm so I didn’t lose my hair. I still worked Keen, still went grocery shopping. Many people never knew that dreaded “C” had even creep itself into my body. Yet my body knew. As finally, we ended the battle with a clear report. Yay! I found I couldn’t walk. Another test, another problem, another battle to fight. That Horrible, I truly mean horrible , far worst than the spinal tap I had when I had spinal meningitis, the EEG had to be done. This is where the test sticks needles in one’s leg to see if we feel pain! Agh, but there the answer came. The major nerves in my legs were completely dead. Okay, let’s face this. A bit angry, but okay, we can handle anything , right. We believe in miracles. Swim class, yoga, sheer building of the muscles rather than my brain telling my legs when to walk, the miracle came. This is just one of my TRUE life stories, my story, my beloved friends. Today more miracles are needed. Each of us need a miracle. Today I will expect, Today I will accept ( remember we must accept ) MY miracle.
Animal totems: Whale: Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia Subclass: Eutheria Order: Cetacea : Sister Whale breaths air, as well as she can live in the water. Her totem is the symbol of mothering, of nurturing as she doesn’t lay eggs as many water animals, but is a mammal bearing a live baby. She nurses the baby. Amazingly, this totem is an endangered species, yet still she manages to survive. Battling the worst of the worst, especially man who in his wisdom has decided to hunt the whale, for sport, for whatever reasons unknown to intelligent universe life. This totem reminds us of miracles, Sister whale is gentle, not aggressive, yet will fight to survive, to have victory no matter what life, captivity attacks her family.
I am here my usual hours today. I write this story today not for sympathy, but so all of us, including myself, can be reminded that dreams can be realized, we can have victory, that Today I will expect, I will accept my miracle. As we know that to receive we must give, so I am sending out free minutes. May the fairies dance with each of us today. Love ya , Me, Cherokee, Cidro, Frankiecapone, Sugar Fortune Cookie, T and the sweet spirit of Bob and Bets.
Waves flood over the rocks as the winds whip the sea
Beating against the hard unmoving rocks much like the pain beats within me.
Sea foam flows tipping the waves as sea gulls dip through sea sprays
The harsh words, the angry souls, we cry in the night
We long for cleansing healing flow of the sea’s might
Sister sea with her waves of blue, of green
Have answers hidden in the hearts of men to still be seen
The whales call out the songs they sing
Mourns, wisdom that ancient spirits brings
The sea lions play on the rocks as dolphins fly
Over the high stones against blue skies
As we walk by the Ocean, the water laps our feet
We feel the power of the Master we long to meet
There in the sand along the beach
In this moment in time, right here, we reach
Hope. ( deborahmills ©2010 51 Poems of Spirituality – Lessons of Hope )
