Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come. Henri Nouwen
Our fatigue is often caused not by work, but by worry, frustration and resentment. Dale Carnegie
Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. Carrie Fisher
We work very hard, yet our work seems to appreciate another more than ourselves. The bosses seem to focus more on another employee even when we work ourselves to the bone, as well as our wallets seems to get thinner as time goes on. Resentment starts to set in. We spend nights alone. Our dinners are eaten standing up by the sink, while Mr Kitty eats his meal beside us standing on the counter. Sure does feel as if no one cares, we are alone. We see people we know beyond doubt doesn’t deserve that guy, that gal in life but yet, seems as if these jerks have everything handed on a silver platter. Worse yet we resent everything. We stop liking ourselves because we feel we must be the worse person on Mother earth if we are still alone. Oh, the seers, the prophets, the lightworkers tell us that we are blocking our miracles with this anger, this resentment, yet we try. We really do try. We get up each morning, do our vision board, do our candles, prayers, yet there it is. Nothing changed. Time slides by. The answer is the spiritual battle within ourselves, to love ourselves. To believe in this moment, that no matter what we are going through, we stop, breathe, ask the Divine to help us. “I don’t want to be angry anymore. I don’t want to be resentful. I want to love and be loved. I will be the vessel of love today.” If we have to stop every 5 minutes, to say this mantra, we will overcome, we will move to our dreams.
Animal totems: Cardinal: Bro Cardinal with his bright red feathers, is often seen in the Yule holiday scenes. His totem mates for life. If his partner is missing or dies, his totem will grieve for a time, his love still pure. Yet he is cheery even in his grieving. His totem reminds us to shine our light, our brightness especially in the dark times. His medicine shares the memory of true lasting love.
