I want my music to be accessible to every listener because I know that I really have something to say in terms of really, you know, removing thorns from people, thorns that really makes us unaware that we are bleeding with these thorns, like pain, grief, jealousy and so on. Vusi Mahlasela
Every Rose has its thorns. Every night has its dawn. Every cowboy has his sad sad song. Every rose has its thorns.- CC deville, Bobby Dall, Rickey Rockett
March on. Do not tarry. To go forward is to move toward perfection. March on, and fear not the thorns, or the sharp stones on life’s path. Khalil Gibran
The flower beds are full of thorns, the fuzzy leaves, with the roses, geraniums, azaleas, blooming beautiful lovely flowers. Seemingly odd, that the only plants chosen have things that can prick, or itch! And yet, the reason is that Bro Chipmunk runs through the gardens pulling out pansies ( his fav), new tulips, lilies, as his snacks each day. The gaping hole where we had just planted the fresh new blooms is a shock, so we called my children’s father, a master gardener, to have him tell us to get the ones with thorns or fuzzy leaves. Odd that nature, the universe has a plan for the thorns. We should not fear the thorns of life, but accept that each one comes for a reason to bring the beauty life has to hold, to give us our dreams. Tread carefully in the thorns and fuzzy leaves as they protect the dream.
Animal totems: Bro Chipmunk is cute. Admittedly he is small, beautiful, but his ability to move through the garden with quick destruction belies his size. His totem reminds us that his burrow is complex, full of twists turns of the path, then suddenly he pops up. His totem tells us that although life twists and turns we can plan on dreams popping up . his medicine reminds us that something important the changes are coming through the thorns, important magick is comingLady Moon is Waning Crescent with the illumination of 11% moving toward tomorrow’s new moon.
