Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you – not because they are nice, but because you are. ~Author Unknown
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what we can do for our country. – John F. Kennedy
The woman stared at the social media page more than once during the day. She got more anxious, more angry each time she stared at the co-worker. This co-worker winning employee of the week just gripped her into panic, frenzy, so by Monday when she went into work, she had a frown on her face. She went about doing all her work properly, efficiently but the underlying current left everyone tense around her. The young man wanted the beautiful debutante’ to love him, want him above all others. He wanted her to adore him, to find him irrestible, the more she seemed to keep her distance, the more he pushed for what ‘he wanted”. We, as people, many times get beat down when we know we are trying so hard to do everything right, we start to get angry, jealous, of others who are achieving their goals. We all have our dreams; we are within our rights to try to achieve, to reach out for those dreams. We just have to remember that the ends does not justify the means. In order to keep ourselves happy, at peace, we must be happy, thankful that no matter, what others do to us, we know we are still doing the right thing. Nothing can make us feel happier, feel free from anxiety, as the fact that no matter what storms are going around us, what circumstances are happening for others or ourselves, then if we know, we are sure we have done the right thing. Other people reaching their dreams, having good things come, will not stop us from reaching ours. The fact that good things do happen to others, just shows us what we can have, that all things are possible. We can never know unless we walk in that co workers shoes ( perhaps the boss did know that her mother had recently died, he wanted to uplift her for some reason) , we can never know unless we stand in our love partner’s place, that perhaps we should be asking what this love wants, needs out of our relationship rather than everything we want – then we will have our joy, our peace, we will be employee of the Spirit in our own soul.
Animal totems: Kiwi- Sister Kiwi is a symbol of affection, of giving, as well as being protective of the underdog. She can smell acutely both smells that are real, and she can sense or smell danger before we can see it coming. Her senses are very astute, so she must be careful about empathically taking in negative energies from all around her. Her medicine reminds us to be sure to love ourselves enough to know we deserve good things, we shall have them as well.
