I held a moment in my hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a tiny sliver of one hour. I dripped it carelessly, Ah! I didn’t know, I held opportunity. ~Hazel Lee
Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending. ~Author Unknown
Father sol High in the sky, his bright fire shining so brightly this am, the day seemed wonderful yet we know from the thermometer that that it is 27 degrees out there. Father Sol is there, we see him, yet he is standing back from us not really sharing his heat with us. We feel that the sun’s warmth is leaving us, will not return as we step outside to feel the air nip our nose. As we sit here this am, meditating on this function of our universe, we reflect on how many times, we feel that the gods, the higher powers are sitting back away from us, has forgotten us, has left us not giving us the warmth , the nurturing that we need. We are out in the cold with out any comfort, any protection, any sense of well-being, as we feel we are on our own, battling the world, the cold, while Great spirit sits far back away. Yet if we sit in the brightness of the Sun, we can still feel his heat on our face on our back. In the moment of lifting our faces toward Father Sol, toward the sprit we can start to know there is still warmth in the world coming our way. As we lift our spirits to the higher power, the healing of our hearts trusting that the spirit is in our lives still working to help us achieve our dreams, we find the warmth come closer, closer, each opportunity leading us one step closer to the goal.
Animal totems: the Komodo Dragon reminds us that long ago, before the Zealots came, before the Reformers took away the magick, dragons ruled the earth. As the new age started, the dragons became afraid so the fairies shrunk them to the small dragonfly. Yet Komodo was not afraid. Bro Komodo sought out new opportunities, looked at the problems at opportunities for change, for growth, used his scales with quick decisions to protect the dreams, then go for them. Remember his medicine also teaches us that silence is often better than harsh words, as words cannot be taken back.
