The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things. ~Henry David Thoreau
Oh Lordy lordy No sir no sir I’m not forty. Im so tired, so very tired, so very old. Sometimes I feel so old, so very old, like that old mule out there plowing his field, carrying his heavy his heavy burden load. Life has beat us down, so far down into the ground, we feel we can’t lift up our head to look around, But see Sun comes up, our Sun goes down, this old world will keep on , keep on turning round, and tomorrow, yes, tomorrow, we will know, we will know that we can go to the place, where we see that shining face, raise our hands up to feel the grace and we know, that we can go on, with hope. Oh lordy , lordy, lo lo lo lordy, I’m not forty anymore – deborahmills Jan 2014
Listening to the man speaking on the podium, we heard him say, If we walk in the light, if we continue to do right, we will have peace in our lives. So when life seems to keep beating us down, we question these words. See, before we came to this place, we were told because we “were in sin” or we “ were in the dark” this is why nothing ever seemed to go right. So every day we get up, trying with all our strength, our power, even our will ( ?) to do the right thing. So we question what’s up, with still the waves of pain, the storms keep coming every single day. We are told, well, NOW , the dark side is trying to convince us that there is no hope. WHAT!? Come on, we need some answers here. Not pat little trite platitudes that just leave us even more confused then ever. As yesterday, one beloved client, one friend, after another, shared with me, I asked for help with the wise words, the right words, the right actions, instead of these statements said to ease the pain but give no real answers, this song came to me. ( later I will put some music to it. It came in the form of the blues. Oh yes, the blues are there to bear the soul-) so here inside, no matter what storms we can have going on around us, as the master prophet Jesus said, “why do you worry , peace be still. “ Matthew 8 :23-27, Christian bible NIV . No matter what faith system we claim, this Master teacher was the best Christian, best wiccan, best Buddhist, etc. as his teachings fit them all, that we can follow his example. Tomorrow we will see, that what we need will come to be. As we will, blessed be.
Animal totems: Parrot: Brother Parrot is a brilliant being. Both in brilliant colors as well as highly intelligent. His totem connects the bird world with us, normal humans who don’t know how to fly above the problems we often face. His medicine comes from the nurturing of Father Sol, the Sun. Many culture tribes use his feathers as parts of healing rituals. Bro parrot will speak up, saying exactly the truth no matter what reminding us that kind words are not always the right way to go. Diplomacy on how to say what needs to be said, is the medicine Parrot who often just blurts things out, is the lesson learned here
I am off this am as usual. Sometimes what we advisers say is NOT what the caller wants to hear. I do try to gentle, to temper my words, the lesson. I will return this evening to share. I allow spirit to send me the people I am to help. If that is just one person today, its okay, I want that one person to know I will strive to say the exact right message today. May the fairies dance around us all today. Love ya, Me, Cherokee, Cidro, Frankiecapone, Sugar Fortune Cookie, t and the Sweet Spirit of Bob and Bets.
