Peacock proud –

Here is the test to find whether your mission on earth is finished. If you’re alive, it isn’t. ~Richard Bach

In spite of the cost of living, it’s still popular.  ~Kathy Norris

Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.  ~Danny Kaye

Yesterday going in to check the heat lamps in the greenhouse, I see a seedling flat where in September, I placed some tulip bulbs so we would have  the  beautiful blooms for sale in the spring.  I was so excited to see that there are little sprouts in the flats!  Bright green, thin shivers of beauty that will later turn out to be red, purple, yellow, peach blooms that rise up to meet Father Sol the sun halfway.  The wonder, the miracle of this, reminds me so often of how this day, today I have so much else to see, to look forward to, oh maybe not great huge dreams being accomplished, perhaps there may be a few glitches in the path, but looking around I can see so much to admire, to be glad I’m here to see. So coming in to work, I find four people saying that it isn’t worth life to live, two people taking pills ending up in hospital or psych ward, 3 others saying that life has no purpose.  I struggle as my whole purpose of this work, this mission is to give hope to know that our dreams, our purpose is never over until the Great spirit tells us it is over, we have walked our path with as much gusto, as much enthusiasm as we can, trusting the most high to take care of the little things of life.   Some wonder if I understand, oh yes,  in my book Living with the other Side, which some think is complete imagination, I explain on how, why, I KNOW beyond today, the sun will come out, Father Sol will shine on us.  In the meantime, the whole of the universe is here to help us, give us life, give us purpose.  Perhaps the reason is the rescue dog we adopted, or the neighbor down the street that can’t go get groceries, so we pick up his/hers while we get our own, yet each, every moment of every day we can savor.  How I long to convey this to people, to show what I know to be true,  The more we enjoy life on our path right this moment, perhaps even just the little seedlings coming up, the quicker the dream that seems unreachable shows up at our door.  We don’t even notice the time gone by, we are so busy enjoying this one moment, even if this time is spent in prayers, in meditation, in reflection of our own face in the lake shifting , changing as all life changes.  This moment will be gone, in well, yes, a moment’s blink of an eye.  We don’t have permission to choose to leave it. We don’t have permission to change our path, we just have permission to choose how we walk the path. We can throw as much colorful paint on it as we want.

Animal totems; Peacock;  Bro Peacock really struts through the barnyard.  His shrill voice rings out, screaming at everything so people, animals will see him.  He is a bit arrogant, yet his “many eyes” sees everything as well. Good, bad, this totem sees all.  Hera, mother goddess, gave peacock his eyes, while Chinese mythos tells of blending colors reminds us of sweetness, harmony of sound.  His medicine reminds us of past lives, realizing that this moment in time is beautiful to be savored.  Fan our plumes to reach out to others with our own inner beauty.

I am going to be late starting this am.  My old couch is retiring to the junkpile today.  Hopefully the crows, the bluejays, the wrens will use its old threads for nests, the field mice hide from the cold in its empty body.  I will be on as soon as the movers clear the house.  May the fairies dance with us all today. Love ya, Me, Cherokee, Cidro, Frankiecapone, Sugar Fortune cookie, T and the sweet spirit of Bob and Bets.
