All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible. T. E. Lawrence
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Harriet Tubman
Life is odd. Just when we think the dreams cannot happen, when we believe we are either way too old, or the time passed has been so long gone, there is no way possible that it could happen, bam, life turns that bend in the road again. Recently I’ve been given the privilege of cleaning out my 97 ( she would have been 98 in one month more) year old aunt’s house. I swear she didn’t throw anything away in all those years. Much of what is there is just bric – a – brac, stuff, old pictures , lots and lots of pictures, and every letter ever written by her family to her. Yesterday, I was going through papers, letters, when I ran across a postcard from me! One line stuck out: “ I am starting to sing again. Maybe this time I’ll make it.” See, I had planned as a child to be the female version of Elvis. Now you are all aware that I’m not Elvis, but I also now wouldn’t want to be. Yet, I have made monies singing, sold some songs I wrote, played on stages, living the dream. Also now at 60 when my voice is almost gone, I get asked to make yet again another Yout…. Video. Wow! At 60 years old, the other day, a person I had never talked to, ever met, wrote me on G…. share, and asked me for a particular song. For everyone’s sake, I am trying to strengthen my breathing again, my voice, and learn the songs perfectly! But Wow! I just sat down, cried at the goodness of the universe, to allow me to not only share my love of music, but also the messages of hope, faith, promise and love of dreams. The answer, the dream may not come how we expect, or WHEN we expect, but giving in to a counterfeit, say a replacement guy or lady, to turn away settling for less than what we want, to me seems an impossibility. We can have our dreams. Hang on.
Animal totems: Squirrel: Sister squirrel puts the nuts in her cheek, carrying many at a time back to hide, to prepare for the winter. She has great medicine, great power in the fact that she knows when to make her moves to work, when to sit back , to just play. She reminds us that being serious all the time, is not good for us. Sister squirrel’s totem is reminding us that winter comes to all situations, a time of rest, a time of waiting, for the spring the rebirth to come. We never see squirrel unhappy, afraid to stop to play.
