Believe, when you are most unhappy, there is something for you to do in this world. So long as you can sweeten another’s pain, life is not in vain.” Helen Keller
Today no person, place, or thing can irritate or annoy me. I choose to be at peace – Louise L. Haye
This last week has been hard. Life in this era has not been easy. So many changes, so much pain, is all our lives, even our country, even the world has beat us up , hitting us all over, over until we feel weary of even facing the day. We stop, we yell at the gods, questioning our purpose here. Of course, we have made mistakes in our lives, where we listened to either the wrong inner voices of greed, ego, or desires, or we didn’t listen , didn’t pay attention to what spirit has yelled at us , Don’t do this. Yet even when we step out to make our mistakes, we learn, we prove, we can be examples, to live out our purpose of life. In our pain, we don’t turn to destroy the others who stood by us, who have yes, maybe made mistakes, but still in all , kept coming back as the puppy who gets kicked away, but still comes back to give puppy kisses when we are sad. We tend to become angry at the gods, only we take it out of everyone, anyone around us. Yesterday, although the nursing home my sweet precious mother is in, on a whole, I’m not too thrilled about, but yesterday I still took cookies to the techs, the nurses both on the hall she’s on now, and the hall she was on previously. It is nurses week. The nurses are only as good as the higher ups give them the staff, the resources, the tools, the information they need to have. Individually these are not horrible, mean people. Individually these lovely people do the very best that can be done. Yet perhaps no it is not enough for what I believe my mother deserves, yet there it is. As in seeking spiritual advice. Each person who works in a spiritual field, puts out there to try to give the very best message, to give the best advice. Many times we don’t listen, we refuse the answer we hear as we don’t expect to hear that answer, or simply plain don’t like it. Our part is to remember our mission, our real purpose is to be spiritually responsible, to show our love, our kindness even in the midst of our own pain. Then our karma will reward us.
Animal totems: Firefly; although the season for Bro Firefly has not yet got here in rural Tennessee, this morning at the kitchen sink, I look up to see a single firefly on my curtains. Surprised, I just left him there, saying, where is your message my friend. I love the fireflies. In the summer, here we stayed out with our jelly jars with the holes punched in the lid to catch them for a brief moment to see lots of tiny dots of light flickering in the darkening purple night all together in the jar. Then we let them all go, individually to shine by each one alone. This medicine reminds us that one little light we shine, can gather together with others to shine a brighter light, then playing it forward we can go alone into the dark to gather even more to be compassionate, to give heart.
I am here my normal hours today. May the fairies dance around each of us today. Love ya, Me, Cherokee, Cidro, Frankie Capone, Sugar fortune Cookie, T and the sweet spirit of Bob and Bets.
