Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul. In the stillness of the midnight, precious,, sacred memories to unfold. Precious father, loving mother, fly across the lonely years, and the old homes scenes of my childhood, in fond memory appear – Aretha Franklin
Memories Light the corners of my mind Misty watercolor memories of the way we were – Aretha Franklin
Memories are precious. We learn from mistakes and troubles, but the ones we need to keep in our heart, our spirit, our soul is the precious wonderful memories. The ones we should focus on are the memories of fresh apple pie cooling on the rack,, but sliced and served still a bit warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Remembering the angel biscuits, light and fluffy with a thick slice of country ham, a bit of butter or homemade apple butter with a side of red eye gravy. What a Sunday breakfast feast we have had in our precious memories. The tire swing in the backyard that still hangs with the rope slightly frayed but not worn out enough to break, still sturdy to hold our children, our grandkids to swing higa tableh touching the bottom leaves of the old oak tree, still sturdy, strong, surviving many storms. We learn from the old tree to stay rooted to these good memories, strong sure and grounded with strength, power from our loving memories and our dreams. Dream on, Dream big Dream
Animal totems: Ox : the oxen are considered work animals of burdens; His strong broad back can hold lots of weight, carry much heavy loads remaining sturdy and strong even in the waters of the raging river. His totem reminds us we are built to help others carry their burdens while his medicine shares with us to try to remain as sturdy and grounded as we can in the midst of the storm.
Lady Moon is Waning Gibbous. She enters into Cancer the crab at 12:20 am est. Make red eye gravy with the drippings of the fat of country salt cured ham, a tablespoon of cornstarch, ½ cup of flour, 1 cup of water or milk ( I prefer water for this gravy ) and a tablespoon or 2 of coffee depending on how much you like coffee. Add the water and coffee to the dripping, Whisk briskly until smooth, add the dry ingredients a little at a time, whisking as briskly as you can smoothing it out. If you like your gravy lumpy you don’t have to smooth it completely out. A great comfort food with fluffy light biscuits or toast.
I am off this morning as usual. I will return this evening at 5:30 pm central time. May the fairies dance around each of us today. Love ya, Me,
