If we cannot now end our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. John F. Kennedy
It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. Audre Lorde
I know there is strength in the differences between us. I know there is comfort where we overlap. Ani DiFranco
Last night the skies opened, the rains flooded down on Mother Earth. The heavens cried as if all the gods, the goddesses, the angels, the elementals, any spiritual being in the whole of the universe cried buckets. We have spent this last week crying as well as the differences, the disrespect, the very hate of humans have once again shattered our world, our hearts. We are stunned, walking around as in a trance, unsure once again of how this could happen again. And yet, in our hearts we know, that disrespect of another’s differences, of faith, of creed, of gender, of color is more the culprit than anything else we want to blame. the root cause is fear, anger, hatred of differences. The root cause is disrespect of others. Each person that comes into our lives, spirit sends for a purpose. We should listen carefully, watch to see carefully, the messages this person brings to us. Oh, truths hurt, differences annoy, we would like to see each person to be as we would like them to be. Our pace, our thoughts, and yet, we would not learn if new ideas, new thoughts, were turned away. When we love, we should embrace the differences as this is our balance. When we love, we should enjoy the time. No time is wasted when we love, when we respect the differences.
Animal totems: Mockingbird: Bro mockingbird’s totem never makes his own nest. His totem along with sister mockingbird finds an empty nest of another bird, taking it as his own. He neither changes it or tries to make it different than it already is. His totem also has no song of his own. His totem sings mocking other birds so the predators are confused. His totem reminds us when we enter another space, in love, or in life, we should adapt to love, to respect that space. His medicine reminds us that learning of others’ differences will increase our own beliefs, not destroy them.
Lady Moon is Waxing Gibbous with the illumination of 77%. She enters scorpio at 9:18 am est. the 2nd house of money, finances, is in Libra reminding us in our purchases to stay balanced. As we start to move toward Summer Solstice on June 20, we celebrate by journeying to a place of flowing water. A well, a spring, a creek, a river, flowing toward healing, cleansing. Or we can create the same energy with bringing a water fountain into our home,, or yard. Here is a good ritual by Deborah Blake (witches almanac) “Water to cleanse and wash away fears the rain like Gaia’s gentle tears, Ocean’s fierce and rumbling roar as its waves rush to the shore, like the water I will flow washing clean and letting to into myself the water I take, that smooth will be the path I take” – then drink a glass of water.
