The years rolled slowly past And I found myself alone Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends I found myself further and further from my home And I guess I lost my way There were oh so many roads I was living to run and running to live Never worryied about paying or even how much I owed Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time Breaking all of the rules that would bend I began to find myself searching Searching for shelter again and again Against the wind A little something against the wind I found myself seeking shelter sgainst the wind Well those drifter’s days are past me now I’ve got so much more to think about Deadlines and commitments What to leave in, what to leave out Against the wind I’m still runnin’ against the wind I’m older now but still runnin’ against the wind – Songwriters :BOHLEN, DIETER
The Storms coming, the winds picked up. The path led right into the face of the winds. Much like the salmon swimming upstream against the current, to lay the eggs, we tried to walk against the winds, rather than with our back so the storms could push us ahead on our path. We feel as if we are battling the very elementals that were given to us as helps along the way. Life is often this way. We see the dream. We are given the dream. We see a clear path ahead, but suddenly storms, trials, obstacles, winds start blowing around us that blind our eyes, stop our faith. Against the winds, against the troubles, against the heartaches, we push on forward toward the goal, toward the dreams. Steps to keeping on the path of dreams: 1. Dream the Dream. 2. Write down the dream fully, envisioning and committing to paper every detail. Date this, time it, leave room to add visions as each new idea comes. 3. Set time goals, set positive steps toward goals, write down any obstacles we may think will arise. Leave room in timing for detours, life to happen. 4. Take one step each day to making dream happen . 5. When we’ve done all we can do, don’t give up. But give to Great Spirit to work, then Dream on, Dream Big, Dream.
animal totems: Salmon – sister Salmon is a symbol of wisdom, of strength. When faced with obstacles, I have seen Salmon get stuck in the rocks swimming up current toward the laying grounds. Yet she persists. She wiggles, tugs, pushes herself, until she gets unstuck from the hold, to continue the hard swim against the current. Her totem realizes that only through persistence, faith she will reach her goal. Her medicine reminds us to continue on despite we are going against the wind.

The Moon in Cancer reminds us to stay calm, leaving irritability of the cold, the winds, the battles of life, remembering to be kind to others. Astrology today says to cook soul food. Yesterday a tradition of the south is to serve Black eyed peas, which is considered soul comfort food. The way we cook these nutritious beans are to fill sauce pan with 6 cups water, 2 cups beans, piece of ham, bacon, pork, ½ tablespoon butter, salt, pepper to taste. Boil on med heat for about 15 minutes, then let simmer about 20 until soft.
