Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Phillips Brook
I won’t just survive, Oh you will see me thrive, Can’t write my story I’m beyond the archetype, I won’t just confirm, No matter how you shake my core, ‘Cause my roots – they run deep, oh, Oh, ye of so little faith, Don’t doubt it, don’t’ doubt it, Victory is in my veins I know it, I know it, And I will negotiate, I’ll fight it, I’ll fight it, I will transform. When, When the fire’s at my feet again, And the vultures all start circling, They’re whispering, “You’re out of time.” but still I rise. This is no mistake, no accident, when you think the final nail is in, Think again, Don’t be surprised I will still rise. I must stay conscious, Through the madness, and chaos So I call on my angels, They say Oh, ye of so little faith, don’t doubt it, Victory is in your veins, you know it, you know it, and you will negotiate, Just fight it and be transformed. – Katy Perry
We will rise again. We will stand strong even in the midst of pain, even in the midst of storms and rain. We will rise again. In the distance, we can hear the sounds of battles where gains, power, and darkness reigns, but we can rise above the chaos, and try to tame winds that bring the strains of songs of peace, love, the binds that ties, as we sing again the songs of Southern Lullabies – deborahmills ©2017
In researching some songs for a new cd, I ran across this song, by Katy Perry. She co-wrote this song with Savon Kotecha. As I sat at the piano, and read the words, and the music for the first time, I could feel the power rise in me. A bit down heartened, we know that music has power in itself to lift us up out of doldrums, out of any sadness, sorrow, or troubles we feel. Trying to find a way to stay strong, come back up in the middle of whatever storm we are going through, we can find the rituals of love, of peace, the music we need, the words of the prophets, the seers, to come back, bring back our own power. We have power. We let the nay-sayers, the “world” tell us we can’t, we won’t, impossible. We have to remember the words of Natalie Wood – “ there is no impossible. The word is I’m possible.” .
Animal totems: Cat – Sister Cat has long been a familiar, a totem of magick. Her totem has quick reflects, quiet movements, eyes that see in dark, in shadows to find the answers. Her totem reminds us of our power, of our own magick. Her medicine reminds us that no matter how down we get, we can rise back up with our own 9 lives
Lady moon is waning gibbous. She remains in Scorpio today reminding us not to sting our love ones. The Green is a color of healIth and wealth. Painting your house green will bring prosperity in the house.’
